Designed for a party of 3–6 characters of levels 7 to 11, this can be run as a standalone planned or random encounter. If you are running the Consortium Series, it fits perfectly as an adventure following C7: Vault of Frost.

In the predominantly lawful evil society of the City of Brass, the prison system is a brutal, for-profit industry. Privately owned prisons extract money from and inflict terror upon the lower classes.

An enterprising Efreeti business copied dwarven engineering to trap fire elementals inside metal shells, creating the Brass Guards. These constructs replaced unreliable salamanders to serve as loyal, tireless, and unpaid guard.

The encounter can be run with the PCs trying to break into or out of the prison. Or both, depending on how things go.

Key Features:

  • The Prison Cells Map: A detailed battle map showing the bottom level of a brass prison tower.
  • The Brass Guard (CR 9 Construct): A powerful, intelligent construct powered by an imprisoned elemental.
  • “Behind the Screen” Courtroom Drama: The court transcript of Vynny Braggadoccio’s (a tiefling sorcerer and lawyer) efforts to defend his party against very serious charges.
  • AI Disclosure Transparency

Product Details:

  • Recommended Party: 3–6 players of levels 7–11.
  • Setting: The City of Brass, but easily adaptable to any planar metropolis or volcanic dungeon.

Will the PCs bust break the prison or be broken by it?
